A pinch of salt and a thimbleful of honey,
a spoonful of custard, rancid and runny,
the husk of a fly from a black widow’s web,
the claw of a lobster collected at ebb.
Grind and combine and bring to a boil,
then strain the blend through a piece of voile.
Add it to the butter on a slice of bread,
and serve it to the person whom you wish to bed.
